I'm submitting a PR to fix the version fetching to work again, and to fetch from the master branch so that it actually matches the release it's downloading.
And after a site change it stopped fetching the version correctly, causing it to forever download and install the latest master every time it was run. For starters it was fetching the version (hash) from the development branch, but downloading the master branch. Upon trying to update it seems to be unable to fetch the version number, though it hangs like it's doing something anyway, it is certainly not updating my local files any more (compared manually against recent commits). In order to manually download ElvUI you can either click the Download ElvUI button in the. Apparently they updated their gitlab version, which may have caused the problem.
